The main menu here is of course the fish. Freshly cought by the fisherman nearby. Popular fish here is Siakap or Seabass. Grilled traditionally on firewood with the fish wrapped by a banana leaf .
Malay grilled fish is a bit difference from western style grilled fish. You can feel the difference when you ate a fish at Manhattan Fish Restaurant an then come here to eat. Usually western style grilled fish taste originally like a fish with no added ingredient and look neat from outside. But for malay, they tend to put spices on the fish and few pinched of salt together with turmeric powder to give the fish a taste.
Usually the grilled fish are enjoyed with nasi lemak (wrapped rice) and the sauces is made from tamarind juice mix with soy sauce and added fresh Malaysian chillies.
Perkampungan Ikan Bakar Terapung not only offers just grilled fish, but all type of fresh sea creature like crabs, cockle, squid and oysters. Only dont ask for Atlantic Ocean Fish like Salmon or Eel. All fresh, just choose the size and amount you want and they will put it on the weighing scale for you.
